I don’t see myself as someone who speaks up much. At most, I’m the curious one who will asks questions but asking for other purposes is something that I’m still continually learning and bettering the craft of. Not only asking questions, but asking to understand, asking to negotiate, asking to seek alternatives.

Recently I’ve had a conversation and I remember vividly the phrase that came up, “things happen to those who ask”. If you never ask, you might never know. And what’s the worst thing that could happen from an ask —probably a rejection but honestly you won’t die from a rejection. Not physically at least. And while rejection closes the door, at least it stops you from going down a path that might not be meant for you.

So here I am, nearing the end of 2024, trying to be continually thankful for both open and closed doors. And I hope we will all walk through our current open doors with confidence. 🚪
